Guildford Art Centre is the only specialist business in Guildford which sells art materials. It is hugely popular with artists ranging from leading professionals to the keen student and novice artist due to the welcoming atmosphere, range of products and expertise.
We serve customers from around 20 miles from Guildford, though many travel a considerable distance for specific products rather than go into London.
The Art Centre has a loyalty card offering 10% discount for a fixed period following a major purchase, with the period relating to the value of purchase. There is short term parking close to the shop in Quarry Street and several long term car parks nearby. Short-term stops enable disabled drivers to collect their purchases.
We also offer a mail-order service.
Guildford Art Centre is noted for its wide range of products from professional quality to craft materials with a good depth of stock holding and supported by staff who are knowledgeable practising artists well able to advise customers. The business achieved the Investors in People award in 1998.
The business was established in the 1920's primarily as a blueprinting shop for Engineering Draughtsmen and Architects working in local companies.
In the 1960's it moved to two basement rooms in St Mary's House, Quarry Street, Guildford and added a small range of art and graphics materials for architects, commercial illustrators and professional artists. By 1985 the business had sold off the blueprinting equipment and concentrated wholly on selling art and graphics materials.
The business moved a few doors down Quarry Street in 1996, and is now even nearer the High Street.
